Privacy Policy
SpeedoMe does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything the app does happens on your iPhone, and it leaves nothing on it except your unit setting.
What the app uses
- Location. To measure your speed, SpeedoMe uses the location services of your iPhone while you use the app. After you tap Start, it keeps measuring in the background so your speed stays up to date on the Lock Screen and on the CarPlay Dashboard. Location data is processed on your iPhone, only in memory. It is never saved, never sent anywhere and never shared.
- Your setting. The unit you choose (km/h or mph) is saved on your iPhone only.
- Live Activity. The current speed shown on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and on the CarPlay Dashboard is created and updated locally by the app. SpeedoMe does not use push notifications or any server for this. The Live Activity is visible on the Lock Screen and on a connected CarPlay display without unlocking your iPhone, so anyone who can see those screens can see your current speed. Tap Stop or the red close button to remove it.
What stays on your iPhone
Nothing, except the unit you choose (km/h or mph). SpeedoMe does not write logs, location history, caches or any other files, and it does not contain any code for collecting diagnostics. Deleting the app removes the saved unit setting.
What SpeedoMe does not do
- It has no accounts and asks for no personal information.
- It contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and no third-party code.
- It does not send any data over the internet.
- It does not sell or share data with anyone.
Apple
If you have turned on Share With App Developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated crash and performance reports. Apple controls these reports, and they cannot be used to identify you.
Your control
- Tap Stop, or the red close button in the top-left corner, to stop measuring and remove the Live Activity.
- Turn location access off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → SpeedoMe.
Children
SpeedoMe is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
